Rashgmaal_FK Interview with Rembrandt Duran of Adeen Magazine/Red Ribbon Army

Rashgmaal_FK: Hey Bloggers today i got Rembrandt Duran with us.. Rembrandt if you don”t mind tell me a little about yourself?
Rembrandt: I would love to! Im Rembrandt Duran the Mexican Dutch Jew who lives in NYC. Im a Designer whos just trying to show the world his vision and message.
Rashgmaal_FK: Do You mind giving me a brief description of Red Ribbon Army and Adeen Magazine?
Rembrandt: Red Ribbon Army is a group dedicated to trying to inspire kids and teens to not be afraid to like what you like dress how you dress and express yourself through fashion. Love who you are and what you do. Represent yourself through what you love and inspires you. and ADEEN is somewhat the same message but its more than a group. Its a lifestyle brand. Not a clothing line but an entire brand. I like to bring fun and life into my creations and just hope that people can see it and like what I do!
Rashgmaal_FK: How did you guys came up with the whole Red Ribbon idea?
Rembrandt: I came up with the Red Ribbon idea simply because it was something I loved as a kid. And I knew by incorporating it into what I was trying to do it would get people to like it instantly! So I just used something I loved and hoped everyone else would love it.
Rashgmaal_FK: What made you decide to start up Adeen Magazine?
Rembrandt: Well ADEEN came from Jovany and I wanting to wait before starting a line of clothing. So we decided just to start a blog and think and wait on what we wanted to do and just do our thing in the meantime. Until something came to us and then we’d work on it.
Rashgmaal_FK: You guys both blogs are dope Adeen and Red Ribbon. What made you create your own style and blog?
Rembrandt: Well I’ve always hated ever looking like anyone else. LIke…. It’d make me wanna go home and change haha So i just stopped really focusing on an certain image and took everything I loved and came up with a perfect mix im happy with! But as far as the blogs it just felt right to give the people but I feel like what they wanna see. Shout outs to Carlton Yaito and Stanley Steel for really maintaining the Red Ribbon blog
Rashgmaal_FK: What does fashion mean to you?
Rembrandt: Fashion means everything to me. It means my career and my future. It was never really my past so I really try and incorporate the non fashion things that were part of my past into my future in fashion.
Rashgmaal_FK: How would you define your city’s fashion?
Rembrandt: Sooooo eclectic. I feel like this is the fashion capitol of the world. Its mix of Paris, Tokyo, Milan and every other city mixxed together. I love it. I wouldnt be able to the things I do anywhere else!
Rashgmaal_FK: I know they are many designers in the world but which designers are your favorite?
Rembrandt: Just Ralph Lauren really lol I stopped paying attention to designers. Too busy with my own stuff.
Rashgmaal_FK: What makes you guys uniqe?
Rembrandt: Its not up to us to decide really its up to the viewer
Rashgmaal_FK: As I know, you have a little brother by the name of Jovany Perez, Do you guys get along well?
Rembrandt: Hes not ACTUALLY my brother haha he just looks like he could be. But we get along very well, we sometimes argue when it comes to business but thats separated from personal matters.
Rashgmaal_FK: Who or What inspires you the most?
Rembrandt: Conan Edogawa, Jimmy Kudo and Case Closed. That inspires me the most! Along with my mother and my supporters!
Rashgmaal_FK: As everyone can see in some of your pictures you and rapper Daniel “Diggy” Simmons are friends. What’s the story behind how you’ll became friends?
Rembrandt: We became friends because Jovany had known him from myspace back in the day and they just stayed in touch. So we all met up one day in Pop Burger and went to a fashion show for Coco And Breezy and Aston Mozie and from there on we stood in contact.
Rashgmaal_FK: Besides the whole fahion blogging what else do you do?
Rembrandt: I wouldnt really call myself a fashion blogger even… I cant remember the last time I really posted something about fashion hahah i blogged about this amazing dress but other wise i blog about cartoons women and photography. Those are the thing sI blog about because those are the things that inspire me. BUT! I am a designer and ex stylist. I design clothing inspired by cartoons for right now!
Rashgmaal_FK: If someone wants to purchase something from you, where could they do so?
Rembrandt: Through my website thats coming soon. ADEENYC.com and by emailing me

RASHGMAAL_FK: Yo my bloggers today i got a Graphic Designer.. Not just any graphic designer this is my Role Model.. He goes by the name of “Ricci Steez”. Ricci What’s up?
RICCI STEEZ: Wussup man .. feelin’ good.
Rashgmaal_FK: Okay i know i dont speak for myself when i ask.. Ricci what made you start doing graphics?
Ricci Steez: The thing that made me get into design was really the curiosity of how things were done. Like as far as print, t-shirts, vinyl toys and website.. I always wanted to learn and when no help was around, there was youtube and just me reading and discovering a variety of techniques.
Rashgmaal_FK: The name “Ricci Steez” sounds cool. Does it have a meaning?
Ricci Steez: Ye it does have a meaning.. Ricci coming from west indian family members calling me Ric or Ricci.. it sorts of stood with me and the Steez is just the style I have and the just my personality and mentality as a person. So Ricci Steez it is.
Rashgmaal_FK: With the dope works and skills you have where do you plan on taking all this talent?
Ricci Steez: Well with design, I would like to start a brand. When I say brand I don’t mean just a clothing line or some t-shirt trend but a lifestyle brand, where we design clothing, design logos for other companies and startup brands as well. It being more of a family with the same goal, in making our brand the go to guys.
Rashgmaal_FK: As a graphic designer and coming from the big apple, Who have you ever worked with so far? Also who would you like to work with?
Ricci Steez: Well I’ve been blessed to work with many greats. Uhmm.. people like Great Scott, Remy owner of Assman panties. I’ve worked with Diggy Simmons on concept art and I’m currently helping with ideas for Bionic Yarn which is co-owned by the great himself Pharrell Williams. So I’m truly blessed to have these opportunities. There’s a great amount of people I would like to work with, but I’ll hold names til the opportunity presents itself.
Rashgmaal_FK: I think the fans will really like to know.. Who inspires Ricci Steez?
Ricci Steez: Who inspires Ricci? hmm…Well I’m inspired by the hunger of so many other talented people. Not only celebrities but the cats really on the come up with their hearts in everything they do, Especially my competition in anything I do. I’m inspired by drive and passion. If people must know names, then Kanye would be one along with Pharrell, Kaws, Takashi Murakami, Futura, Diddy, Trump and THE GREAT ESTATE!!!!
Rashgmaal_FK: I really always wanted to know the answer to this question.. What’s your favorite graphic you’ve ever done and why?
Ricci Steez: I honestly don’t have that favorite yet. I haven’t reached that point in my life yet where I’m like…. “Damn… I murdered this piece and God knows it.”
Rashgmaal_FK: I know this interview aint about me (lol) but when i finish college we must do a collab on a graphic bro no doubt I moving NY right after school.
Ricci Steez: LOL… definitely man.. I’m always excited to work with new people as long as their business is handled the right way and its not a phase that wastes my time.
Rashgmaal_FK: Being that your so good.. Are you ever plannign on getting a place? Opening a business?
Ricci Steez: Like an office? Of course. It’s necessary and it will be done!
Rashgmaal_FK: So i’ve seen you like music, why you didnt became a musician instead?
Ricci Steez: Who said I wasn’t a musician? LOL. I have mixtape coming out in september or october. Took time to find my sound and what fit me as an artist and I’ve come to a point where I’m gonna make material and put it out there. I will release info on that shortly.
Rashgmaal_FK: If i’m not mistaken do you Dj?
Ricci Steez: Yes! Everyman must have a hobby and escape of fun. No it’s not a super duper passion but a great outlet for the energy and love I have for music. I look at the boss NIGO (Bape Don) and see how he has his brand and his stores and so much on his plate but the homie still DJ’s when theres time for it. It’s always something I wanted to do.
Rashgmaal_FK: I’ve seen that your into Robots are they anything else that interest you?
Ricci Steez: Phssh… I can go on forever, but if I had to name a few….. Sneakers of course, women, design shops, tattoos (even though i don’t have any), anime, cartoons, and karate flicks. I guess typical man status. Haha!
Rashgmaal_FK: In the next let’s say 5 years where do you see Ricci “STEEZ THE HERO”?
Ricci Steez: I see myself as the owner of a successful company providing the best for my family. Vacations in europe and dinners on yachts with my logo on them.
Rashgmaal_FK: If someone wants to contact Ricci Steez where can they do so?
Ricci Steez: Definitely hit me up on twitter - @RicciSTEEZ email me riccisteez@gmail.com for any questions . I do have a facebook. www.facebook.com/steezthehero and visit the blogwww.steezthehero.com
Rashgmaal_FK: With that being said.. Any Last words?
Ricci Steez: I’ll probably sound super cliche, but you can do anything you want to do in life. Start to create blueprints for your dreams and build that into an amazing salary. Position yourself to be heard. Standing in the crowd trying to look cool won’t get you anywhere in life so take some weight off the bandwagon. Make history!
